Fire Extinguisher & Rubber Band Thingy!

Just picked up my POLO GTi and am wondering where the fire extinguisher attaches? I have this strange rubber band with two metal clips, which just seems to go nowhere.

Can anyone enlighten me?

i think you could put it in boot. look in the boot on the back wall of the car which is on the rear bumper side .

The rubber band thingy was a bit of a mystery to me to . I had a golf MKII and when I brought it it was lose in the boot I couldnt work out where it went for the life of me. However when I picked up my polo I noticed it was used to hold the VW tool kit in the spare wheel. At least thats where mine is

I got a rubber band thing for my toolkit. Guess that solves the rubber band mystery. Can't help you with the clips though.
