Good day
I have recently purchased a 2002 Polo 1.4 S (with factory remote central locking).
I'd like to add Remote central locking to it.
Can anyone provide a definitive answer whether or not it's possible to retro-fit the OEM remote central locking unit that came standard on the SE model ?
I've read that some people did a plug 'n play direct swap, and if that is the case, how easy is it to reprogram an OEM flip key ?
Thanks in advance
Eug

Re: Retro-fit the OEM remote central locking
That's where I read it ... just wondered if more had done it as if it were that simple ie plug 'n play I don't know why more people don't do it ?!
Re: Retro-fit the OEM remote central locking
I have used this kit in the past in my Mk4 Cabriolet and it did the job well:

But the build quality of the flip key remote was a little but "plasticky" hence why I was wanting to fit an OEM solution.
Or perhaps I could simply install the innards of the RClick flip key into an OEM flip key ...

I'd happily pay someone to do the OEM route for me anyday.

Business opportunity there ... for all the VW owners out there who would like to upgrade to keyless entry ...Dom. wrote:I'd happily pay someone to do the OEM route for me anyday.
