With any luck I'll be converting this to Lupo 6 speed in the very near future.

Very exciting!! I always think there's a 6th gear Lol I don't know why, but I'll go to put it into 6th only to remember there isn't one!
Can't wait to see updates on this!

Have you fitted the K&N typhoon yet mate?

One thing I would say about the Lupo 6 speed box is that despite being slightly stronger than the 5 speed box they still go wrong quite often.
A lot of the girls & boys on Club Lupo have had to replace/refurb boxes on their Lupo GTI's too and I'm not talking about the earlier 5 speed Lupo's either, I do mean the 2002 onwards 6 speed Lupo's.

The 6 speed also has pretty poor gear ratio's so your Polo will actually be slower if you fit the 6 speed box.
Polo GTI will pull 0-60 in around 9 seconds with a 6 speed box opposed to 8.4 with the 5 speed, same can be applied with the Lupo GTI as the earlier 5 speed examples were slightly quicker than the later 6 speed models

Yeah mate not saying it just put people off but it’s certainly worth mentioning

Something a lot of people consider doing to their Polo but very rarely materialises, I would stick with the 5 speed box and if it needs refurbishing then have the bearings uprated and use top quality gearbox oil opposed to the Volkswagen stuff.
