Its not VW's falt he perchased a car that had been thrashed to death and by the sounds of it taken quite a nice frount smash, its the dealers fault for not checking the cars history and re-selling a bad egg

That guys had a rough ride. How a dealer cannot check something as simple as whether all the lights work when they acquire a car is beyond me.
