New alloys

Hey guys, I'm new to this forum and have just bought a vw polo 9n 2003.

I want to fit some new alloys to it, my mate will sell me some vw montreals II which are a 17" alloy, I have heard from a few people they were only made in 16's so these must be a replica?

If so will they fit my polo, they are 5x100 stud diameter and i believe the tires I will have on them will be 205/40/17 ? I also want to lower my polo in future around 30mm will this cause any rubbing?

Monty 2's only came in 16's buddy. If you are certain that they are 17's and happen to be split rims, they are called BBS Madras. They came on Passat W8.
And if i happen to be correct, wanna swap them for my 16" monty 2's?! LOL

I have seen monty 2 reps which are 17inch on a Us Golf forum.

Yeah the tyre size will be fine and you shouldnt have a problem with rubbing with only a 30mm drop

btw yeah if they really are the 17" montreal II reps then youre pretty lucky cos they look great and there arent hardly any about

If they are 5x100 they are most likely gonna be reps. The Madras was from the Passat W8 so only came in a 5x112 PCD as far as I know..

Turns out hes a f*****g idiot and they are 16's so I guess ill be getting 205/45/16 with a 30/40mm drop?

bugger, either way yeah they should be sound mate, theyre what come standard on a gt anyway
