Re: TROTTA'S progress thread *.!MIRROR GOT SCUFFED, GRRR!.*

Post by Trottagti »

Well iv wanted one for ages so I took the plunge and got one, a properly welded smoothed boot!

I will of course be blocking it down so it's nice and to my standard and give it a lick of silver and I'm blacking the inside because when I look back i see silver which annoys me so I will be spraying it black :D

I will be swapping all my locks over and having a new screen fitted as my rubber has colasped abit and my rear screen is scratchy where me mum scrapped ice off bless her lol, and a boot popper will be fitted and a switch fitted somewhere n the back or even front not sure where, ideas ppl?

Pics of said purchase...

Looking good mate,

For the boot solenoid, you can hook it up to the rear wiper wiring and use the existing button in your stalk to activate it without hassle of wiring it up on the car end.

Check out an old user called h4r1s, he had one fitted to his in the same way.

Can Imagine a few people will want it tho it'd be a nice upgrade.
Would it be a straight forward fit to the 6n?

Well today iv done a few things, mainly the pre winter clean up.

My front screen rubber scuttle part was lifting so I investigated to find a mountain of dead leaves and twigs from our will at the end of out garden etc, so took it off and got busy cleaning and then I redressed the rubber with back to black t cut so it's nice and fresh looking.!

I then jet washed the whole car at work to get rid of the winter salt n mud and nastys, the amount of mud that came out was worrying lol! Bloody country roads ha, I then got busy with the HD wax and got good results.

Image

Then the reason I wanted a new rear screen and purchased my fully smooth one, de-laminating and my rubber has colasped.

And my bubbling spoiler again, so happy the boot I got has a spoiler onit lol.

Nice man, are you not tempted to spray the scuttle trim a satin black? I hated mine on my GTi, applied trim gel very was but it kept going grey.

I'm having similar problems with my fabia one, will probably just replace it though.
