What bushes?

Post by ereeiz »

Does anyone reccomend or have any advice for bushes on a G40? mine are shagged. the passenger wheel moves backward a little when you tighten the wheel up and the drivers side wheel sits further back than the passenger side :x
So I want to change the lot. Is it an easy job? is there any special alignment that needs to be done, etc? or can it be done on my drive by myself?

I think I may go for those cheaper ones that i found on google, but they haven't got back to me with the info yet as theres a few choices of arb diameter and then meatl bushes or something (similar to powerflex)

I know that the number 3 ones are franked, I was told the wheel movement was probably number 1's and I thought that if its gotta be pulled apart, I may as well do the number 2's as well. But that's where the metal thing comes in. Whats it all about? Anyone know?

for anyone that's interested, I have weird ball joint pivoty type things where the arm meets the chassis, it has rubber boots on eitehr side which looked like knackered bushes to me, I was confused as I read there was either rubber or metal ones there. So I understood it as a metal tube basically, but I was obviously wrong.
Changed the arm to arb and the arb to chassis ones too. Waste of fuckin time and money really, there is absolutely no difference in handling etc. My old ones weren't even worn, and it still aint pulled my bloody drivers wheel straight :x

Could it be problems with the tracking? I know metz had a problem with his car pulling to one side. I know his is a mrk3 saloon, but the front end mechanicals are pretty similar, even if the blocks not.
