Changes made.....

In VCDS Select Control Module, go to 03 ABS Brakes, then 10 Adaptation, go to Channel:

Channel 09 Brake Assist
There are 3 settings for this
0-center (stock setting)
1-small
2-hard

I changed this from the stock 0 setting to 2 and this has made the brake pedal more responsive to smaller inputs. Feels more positive in use, especially under enthusiastic motoring.

Channel 36 XDS
There are 3 settings
0-center (stock setting)
1-weak
2-strong

Again I changed this from 0 to 2 and this one mod alone makes the Polo into a different/better beast under hard driving. It acts almost like my ED30 did with the Quaife and yet doesn't feel as fidgety. Seems more planted around bends and that much better to push through the corner on exit. This mod comes with a five thumbs up...

Also got a chance to look at the log blocks that can be done and FOOK ME there are over 400 of them for the Polo GTI!!!!!
Annoyingly the measuring blocks all have different units of measurement and so for me to fully understand them I've had to wikipedia all the conversions to allow me to see what is what.

As I haven't got the water/meth running at the moment (no meth left!!) I thought I'd get stage 2 logs up and after faffing with conversions got the following.....

Block 201 - engine torque - max 350.1nm = 259lbft @ 3497rpm
Block 196 - Mass flow through throttle valve - 691.7kg/s = 192.2g/s = through the 0.81 division approx 237.2bhp

Typical schoolboy error was not pressing the turbo button and only getting a sample every 2 seconds so may have missed peak mass flow and engine torque alltogether!!

Hmmm, very interesting VCDS tweaks there hurdy, might have to go track a vcds cable down:)

Just had a PM from one of my fellow modders. Looks like the Loba hybrid flows a LOT more than initially thought!!!!!

Goes on Today (Thursday), so will have to see what happens!

Quite likely.

The turbo is on and running. 8)

0-60mph is now 4.9 seconds and 0-100mph is 12.3 seconds - down from 5.0 and 12.9. and this is still on the same Revo mapping.
1/4 mile is 13.6 @ 104.7mph.

done with the last half slightly uphill

Live logged the intake temps and the water meth is really doing the business. 30oC pre-throttle valve temps and yet when the wmi is on the manifold intake temps drop below 19oC from the same as the throttle valve temps. Not sure I even need the Pace i/c and rad! :surprised:

Also the boost is running okay at 0.1bar over requested, so no way out over-boosting.

Could do with a DSG map though to make things just how I want.

Cheers,
The 0-60 won't come down much, but the 0-100 will definitely come down with more power. 8)

How much was the turbo John? Thats an expensive 0.2 seconds.

However, once mapped, i cant wait to see the results.

It is all about the mid-range power Luke

Let's just say the turbo and fitting cost less than a Milltek exhaust. 8)

Wow, super cheap then really. I had no idea it was that cheap. Including manifolds too? Or could you reuse everything? Bolt off/on?

Can you get the DSG box mapped to give a launch control type function to reduce 0-60?

It's all about 40-100mph times in the real world though, I'd go for reducing that as much as possible 8)

I got a good deal on it off SuperSi on VAGOC. :)

That includes the manifold too yeah. All you have to do is bolt it straight on. Quality is top notch and far better than any of the K04 hybrid re-workings that I've seen in the past. Really could do with a hybrid map, but runs ok on the Revo stage 2 map. No overboost and fuelling and timing seems to have adapted okay from the live logs I've seen. The front end has to come off, but it isn't a job that given a bit of knowledge couldn't be done as a DIY.

I'd love launch control but I think if it was possible the clutches would end up as kitty litter in the bottom of the casing in no time at all. :(

40-100mph has dropped a full second from stage 2 with WMI, even without the hybrid being mapped. 8)

Excellent. One to bear in mind for the future then. Really hoping VW recall these and stick a new engine with the forged pistons that are rumoured to be around. Bad luck for you, but good news for me.
