Door handles

Post by TriggerFish »

Hi all,

A thrilling topic this! I was cleaning the Polo earlier and started getting annoyed at all the marks in the paint. Anyway, I'm going to respray the mirror covers as they're pretty bad, as are the door handles.

I was looking on eBay and found these which I figured would be easier and cheaper than painting my own (in the red of course!). However, I don't know if they'll fit as I think they're 9n style handles. The part numbers are almost the same as 6n2 ones, it's just the first three digits are different, which tend to mark what chassis the part is for right?

Golf/9n PN; 3B0 837 207
6n2 PN; 6N0 837 207

If anyone knows either way it would be great! (And if anyone has the mechanism from a drivers side mirror spare that would be great too as I destroyed mine :( )

Thanks,
Joe

That's the new style handles mate, I would advise doing your own there dead easy to remove and to paint red over the wrong base like a blue etc it won't color out and won't match mate. Try getting a breaking polo in red or do your own.....

I was gonna find red ones - just they were the first I saw on eBay. Figured if I got them pre-painted it would be cheaper as VW want £15 for 300ml of paint!

Removing them - don't you need to remove the inner door skins to get to them?

Cheers :)

Na mate, just undo the screw on the inner door edge inline with the handle and gentle wiggle out and there's your handle mate....

Awesome! :P

Will do my wing mirror first as it's primered (waiting for the paint to come in), will check the colour match on that and then get onto those.

Cheers!
