6N2 Polo GTI Power Issue

Post by Craigza »

Hi Guys firstly would like to thank anyone who takes the time to read this, new member... new car... be gentle.

So recently had the gearbox changed and since driving back from the garage the car intermittently is losing power, first time this happened the Engine check light came on.

It idles fine but when driving you will be accelerating and all of sudden with foot at the same pressure on accelerator the power drops and then comes back, this happens very randomly without pattern.

I've had a friend read the codes using VCDS and this is what come up:

Component: CLIMATRONIC C 0.7.0
Coding: 04001

VCID: 214DE1B784ED

1 Fault Found:
01274 - Air Flow Flap Positioning Motor (V71)
37-00 - Faulty

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I have a feeling from the above it's possibly the pre-cat Lambda sensor, possibly damaged when the new gearbox went in? Any thoughts/ opinions would be great, just don't want
to get mugged off when I go back

Thanks again.

Try cleaning out the throttle body, its a known issue on gti's for it to get dirty.. ( Buy some carb cleaner from halfords, remove the airbox, and give it a good clean) this may help your problem!

Check the wiring at the precat lambda plug. They are very fragile and break easily during a gearbox fitting.
