No because the k03 housing is machined to accept the bigger parts and re known to out perform a std k04Mr Blobby wrote:Fair enoughOne last question sorry ha just want to understand this properly. Because you will still have the k03 housing instead of the k04, will that restrict the turbos performance in any way? Because the k04 will have a bigger housing...

Re: Black Polo GTI 6 Speed. Pg22 Hybrid Conversion begins
got mine mapped by tt shop the other day and i asked them about a k03 hybrid and they say there hard to map a car too! any reasons why? also did modded9n fit cruise control too your car?
Re: Black Polo GTI 6 Speed. Pg22 Hybrid Conversion begins
Yeah modded9n did do the cruise. I helped fit it tooquinnygti wrote:got mine mapped by tt shop the other day and i asked them about a k03 hybrid and they say there hard to map a car too! any reasons why? also did modded9n fit cruise control too your car?
Not heard of them bing hard to map but then I would only go to 2 places.
Badger 5 or R-Tech. Both have no issue mapping for the hybrid as they do a bespoke map for your car. Not plug and play.

Had mine done by him last yer and he was saying your real cued up on cars! So is your remap a semi custom or fully custom?
Re: Black Polo GTI 6 Speed. Pg22 Hybrid Conversion begins
Currently running Revo so just off the shelf. As AMD were doing a deal for full turbo back Milltek fitted and Revo map and money was tight I took them up on the offer otherwise I would have gone to Badger 5 or R-Tech.quinnygti wrote:Had mine done by him last yer and he was saying your real cued up on cars! Once the Hybrid is fitted it will be fully custom.
Re: Black Polo GTI 6 Speed. Pg22 Hybrid Conversion begins
How much is the mapping costing you?
I've emailed r-tech but heard nothing yet..
Will follow him up next week if I've heard nothing early week

Yeah well I'm in reading but if it's worth it I'm game it's only fuel and the drive home will be epic
Re: Black Polo GTI 6 Speed. Pg22 Hybrid Conversion begins
When do you think yours will be done and ready for mapping?Simon90 wrote:Yeah well I'm in reading but if it's worth it I'm game it's only fuel and the drive home will be epic
Will probs be done before mine so using your figs as a bench mark.
Let me know once it's all done a what it's like.
Re: Black Polo GTI 6 Speed. Pg22 Hybrid Conversion begins
You not mapping straight away?
My turbo should be getting sent away next pay day this month wasn't ideal lol
But I still need injectors.. Got my big brakes from modded (will) so they will be going on as soon as my rx2's are refurbed as my pepperpots are too small for the upgrade
small wheels are going haha

Yeah soon as its all done I will be getting it mapped. Just not sure when it will be completed as time in the garage is my main issue. I'm hopping to have the car done and all back together and mapped by end of April so will see how it goes.Simon90 wrote:You not mapping straight away?

Good to see your doing the brakes. You wi need them with the extra power
Re: Black Polo GTI 6 Speed. Pg22 Hybrid Conversion begins
Ok so as mentioned time in the garage weekend just gone was going to be non-existent or at the very least limited.
As well as removing the head on Friday after getting out of work early i managed to squeeze in a couple hours Saturday afternoon/evening.
So thought i would do a couple jobs i know i could start and complete.
1. Change MAF sensor over from std housing to 3" housing

And a little peek at my home made turbo intake pipe

Next up i thought i would tackle the 4bar in tank pump conversion.
4bar pump

Then i had to remove the pump from my car

Then i had to make the two pumps become one using bits from both (clean white parts are from original pump - discoloured parts from 4bar pump)

Then fitted back in the tank

More updates soon
