Window problem, please help before it rains lol.

Post by Ashcroft »

Right I have a bit of a problem and hoping some of you could help :-)

I've taken off my door cards to paint my grab handles and fit tweeter covers.

I went to do the drivers window up so I could go inside and paint, but the window will not budge what so ever and no sound to indicate its trying. My suspicion is a faulty switch cos when I use the drivers switch to control the passenger window it will only go down (even when I pull up for window to go up it still goes down :-/)

Has anyone got any idea what it could be?

I'm baffled and can only assume the switch has now packed up

Checked the fuses? Mine did some freaky stuff once and it was just the fuse for one side had blown which made it act up.

To get the window up - does holding the key in the door lock in the locked position make it go up?

Try looking in the rubber tubing between the door and car for broken wires like this...

And I just bridged a secure connection...

Glad it's sorted now.

The windows must be wired in a weird way is all I can assume!
