Good..........and the Bad!

Post by Polo-03 »

Hello folks just to say I eventually got my brand spanking new polo after 2 and a half months wait! Got it on wedensday 26th (week ago). They gave me some free bees for the long wait, they are the headlamp protectors which I think look pretty smart never seen them before on a new polo and they also gave me the load liner for the boot.

After a week of cruising around I WAS pretty happy, new car and brilliant weather what else could you ask for untill today/ tuesday! Not only did it pour from the heavens all day but first problem already!!! There is a cluncking noise coming from the front passangers side wheel. It only happens when I drive over speed bumps/ potholes (which I try 2 avoid) and even when I go around corners quickly. Phoned the dealer up today so I have to take it in to let them see wot the problem is.

After now driving 141 miles (excluding the 1st 70mls I managed to clear)on my new car Ive loved every minute of it but please lets hope that this is not the start of many more problems in the near future. Come on VW whats happening???

Oh carried out first mod already! Fitted an alpine 6cd changer.

That's exactly what happens with my car, like you I avoid speed humps and pot holes. I've had my car for 6 months now, this noise comes and goes and so far no problems have occured due to this noise, fingers crossed. I'll wait till my first service but let me know how you get on at the garage, your outcome will determine if I should take my car in or wait.

Cheers

Des

By the way what model do you have?

Glad you finally got it after that long wait!

Not seen the headlamp protectors on the new polo!

I used to have funny noises from my suspension on the front passengers side, but by the time I managed to get it to the dealers, I had a few hundered more miles on it and it had stopped doing it!

Hope you don't have as many troubles as alot of people on here have, touch wood, I've been very lucky and had minor problems.

Good luck with the car!

I still get creaking from the front suspension. Problem is the dealer knows about the accident I had so they'll probably fob it off as my problem. Still have creaks from the rear but I assume thats dry bushes.

At this point, I would state that absolutely nothing has gone wrong with my car, so far, but if I did that, something's bound to give up th ghost tomorrow!

So let's just pretend I'm fed up with all the faults I've had! :D

Well took it back to the dealer today! By the time we got there the cluncking was greater than ever so I took one of the inspectors out on a test drive. For once Iam glad to say the roads were covered in potholes and bumps! The thing was cluncking so bad he said that he would look at it just now instead of waiting till the end of april, which was the nearest they would beable to look at it. He was at it for about an hour and came back and said "thats it all fixed"! So i asked him what was up with it and he said that the front torsion (spelling) bar was loose and he tightened everything up. Well this is the story he gave me but weather or not its true is a different matter. If there was anything serious he aint going to tell me now is he? Did about 30 miles since it was fixed and everything sounds normal so lets hope thats it. :D
