That's possibly the prettiest looking engine I've ever seen. I love carbon fibre...!!

Yeah its very enjoyable to drive although not brilliant fun in the wet lol
I think I have split one of my engine mounts so that's another job that needs doing in the next couple of weeks, I have had the rear mounts uprated but the fronts are still OEM and one of them appears to have split :(

My RBC Inlet manifold was delivered yesterday and it looks awesome, its really light weight too which I wasnt expecting :D
The postman also delivered my Tegiwa Rear Tie Bar so that's another thing that will be fitted in the coming weeks, i'm just waiting for my Lower control arms and JDM Rear ARB to be delivered next :D

Yeah I'm mega excited for June now, seems far away but were nearly in May now so it will soon come round.
I have decided against the 70mm throttle body for the time being so its just going in for the RBC, K Pro ECU and Mapping

Yeah it will basically be a stage 2 N/A by the time I’m finished, I'm not interested in supercharging it even though the engine & box could easily handle it.

I've not spent a fortune on it (yet  ) because I have cherry picked some of the more affordable parts rather than going straight for the big name brands but I still wouldn’t call them cheap either lol. That's the problem with N/A engines though because its big money for little gain unfortunately, saying that though it is best form of power & most enjoyable too, no lag just footdown and it goes.

The engine mount inserts are quite common for going wrong, apparently the front inserts split for fun so it’s something that needs changing next time it’s at the garage.
It's probably just perished with age but the engine really does rock about when changing gear so it’s not surprising they need replacing every now and again.

How's your GTI coming along Luke, did you get your sill sorted?

well hopefully you get it sorted soon and not at an expense :)

least the engine can handle the abuse just a shame the mounts can't lol

my gti has been slow recently nothin major to update apart from the few pics after a good clean yesterday.

as just said in my thread the sill will get done when I get a full respray cos I dont sgree with the price to get it sorted when could add couple hundred more and get the whole car painted at the same time (which needs doing anyway)

Your civic looks smart :D

Was going to say get one of the engine damper but you already have one. One of the best things to buy for the civic as the mounts are known for splitting under strain.

Theres a boommmm going on down in the south west for civics more and more are appearing ! There is one interga i no of fully forged turbo running 350bhp silly power ;)

Just hope we get some decent weather soon so I can give it a good clean, nothing worse having a black car when its raining one day, nice the next and then raining again the following day lol

I actually removed the damper and sold it last week
They are a good cheap little modification but the vibrations they cause inside the car are a nightmare, I kept it on for a few weeks (and it did work well) but the vibrations were just doing my head in :(. I do have energy engine mounts at the back which are a good alternative but I think i'll have to get them fitted all round because as you quite rightly said the inserts are well known for splitting.

Yeah the Civic scene is very similar to the VW Scene in many ways, especially the older EF, EG & EK Civic's which tend to be slammed to the ground with big rims and crazy camber 8). The K20 engine is capable of silly power with the right parts, the internals are good for 320bhp standard which is pretty impressive and the Honda S2000 has forged internals from the factory lol crazy japanese :)

Update 28/05/2012

Just a small update for you guys

The Civic went to ABP Motorsport again on Friday for a few suspension upgrades and it also had the brakes sorted which were totally finished.

It's now got Eibach Pro Kit Lowering Springs, Eibach Rear Camber Arms (Adjustable), JDM Rear Anti Roll Bar, JDM bushes, Tegiwa Control Arms, Tegiwa Tie Bar & ABP FRSU Geometry so it handles like a dream. It already had Eibach front Camber bolts and a Fast road set-up but that's now been made more extreme and with the lowering springs it’s made one hell of a difference. I fitted a J's racing front upper strut brace the other day too so the handling really has been firmed up, although the Pro Kit springs have actually improved the ride comfort as they are progressive.

A lot of you have already seen these pics on Facebook

Here are the parts in all their glory (bar the camber arms which ABP supplied)

All cleaned up ready for the journey :) it was pretty horrible cleaning the car in the blistering heat but it needed doing

I took it out on a run yesterday with my mate in his EP3 and the handling on the welsh twisty roads was immense, the brakes seem pretty good too despite being low budget discs & pads so I’m pretty pleased with how its performing now. My mate got some great snaps with his SLR camera so I’ll try and get them posted soon, we also got some Go Pro vids too so I’ll get them posted up aswell :)

The Car is having the RBC inlet manifold, 70mm throttle body & Hondata K100 ECU at TDI North on June 19th 8)
