Yeah as Matt said the OEM gasket will do fine

Just ring Volkswagen and they will be able to supply one, probably cost a tenner
Sorry to hear about your foot, how did you manage that?

Cheers guys, with that info I should be able to get one at my local VW parts dealer. With regards to the foot, I dropped a concrete slab on it - I wouldn't of minded but the steel toe boots were around one metre away from me at the time! Major safety fail huh

Sounds nasty mate, get well soon :)

I bet you cant wait to get the exhaust & manifold fitted, should free up some power and improve it massively in the midrange :) I would recommend a custom re-map once its fitted to optimize performance & fuel economy.
The best software is probably the custom code maps that JBS auto designs use because its tailored to the cars modifications rather than a standard off the shelf map such as Revo software etc.

Cheers mate, yeah I got this kit sitting on the floor waiting to be fitted (friggin tease!)
About JBS auto designs, it's a bit of a mission from mine but I like the sound of a tailored remap - I wonder if there's anywhere in the South East that'll do it? Anyone know?

Jabba sport? AMD Essex? Maybe Awesome (not sure of location!)?

Problem with these is that remapping is quite uncommon on them, and I think you're quite limited in what can be changed, and the chip needs to be replaced/removed rather than just altered (as I understand it anyway!).

Gutting to hear about the foot, although hopefully it will at least be dry once you come to fit them!

Awesome GTI are in Manchester but neither Jabba, AMD or Awesome use custom code software unfortunately

It did used to state all the custom code dealers in the UK on their website but that doesnt seem to be working at the moment :(
I'm sure there will be someone near your area tuning cars with the custom code software but you may need to do some digging to find out who they are and where they are based.

Go to AMD mate, that's where I got mine done and with working lambda sensors you will see nearly 150bhp and 120nmt as I got 147.6 bhp there after my chip replacement and custom code remap. Very good service and worked out cheaper as I took a mate to have his done aswell. Took £50 off both our bills, paid £250 I think and went to lakeside for the day. Spending another £200 there ha...

AMD will be fine, I'd get yours serviced and all up to scratch before the map....

Isn't that 120 ft lbs of torque Craig? Should be around 175 NM if its running close to 150bhp

I think you might be getting mixed up mate

The GTI standard has 152NM (112ft lbs) of Torque so when re-mapped that will be 160+ NM (roughtly 120 ft lbs)

One pound-foot is exactly 1.3558179483314004 newton meters.
Your car has 120 ft lbs but the NM figure will be 163

I like this proper techy debate that's going on, makes me feel that I'm in good hands lol :D

So, little update on the foot - off topic I know but you'll be pleased to know that Dr Nick Riviera of The Simpsons fame is alive and well and misdiagnosing broken feet right here in the UK! Turns out I've not broken any bones so the cast has been cut off and I'm sporting a bandage on what is nothing more than a badly swollen foot

So I'm able to hobble about and am planning to get down to the fabricators this week or next to get the back box pipe changed and a price for fitting the lot.

With regards to the remap, obviously I want whatever'll give me the best gains from my set up. Once the exhaust, manifold and cruise are all sorted I'll look into it in more detail.

In other news, I picked up this little number:

It should keep me amused on my potentially long drive for a re map (see my attempt to stay on topic?! lol). Here's what it looks like fitted:
