I say
Buy what YOU like!

Fake splits means jack all to me.
I have Richmond wheel trims on my other car....which because of the fake wheel nuts i guess makes them 'fake alloys' ;)
I have a set of Lensos BSX which are fake splits, but I like the bolts, looks less bare. I've never wanted to put deeper dishes on, so it's not a problem to me.

Brands don't bother me in the slightest. I never saw the point of spending more money on the BBSs when I preferred the look of the Lensos anyway.

And I've had loads of lovely comments from passers by. Everyday people who just liked what they saw. Didn't care about brand or what not. Just knew they looked good.

If you like them go for it!! don't listen to what anyone else says!
 It's your car,
your money,
and your the one that has to drive around on them.

There are pro's and cons with both mate. I paid out for the real one's as i want the mk1 to be a real show car over the next few years i own it.

Plus when i come to sell the car i will add the price of the rs' to the price, or sell them on there own for i would imagine a very close figure to the one i paid for them.

For the price of the dare's then the added cost of tyres you could get a set of bbs rm's, they would properly need a bit of a refurb but in the long run would be a better investment.

There's an argument either way dude, im not one to think less of a car if its got fakes on.

Nothing wrong with a fake set of splits, its all about what you can afford/are willing to spend on wheels

Haven't you got enough wheels yet though Phil? :)
