Thanks guys, so - the olop's finally booked in for tomorrow to have the manifold and exhaust fitted! Looks like that remap will be on the cards sooner than I thought. Think I should start a new thread for that so stay tuned :D

Hey gang, I've not been on in a wile - soooooo, you're all gasping to know what happened with the exhaust and mani effort right? Well, I had it fitted and... didn't like it :( It was a bit too loud for my taste and the girlfriend didn't like it either so I've taken it back off and it's currently sitting in my garden shed.

I'm planning to sell it on so will add it to the classifieds soon.

Oh well, live and learn huh?

Say, if I get a remap having only the cold air intake, will I get any gains?

Cheers guys

Shame you didn't enjoy it mate but it's all personal taste, having a loud car can be frustrating at times

As for the Re-map you should still see gains of around 10bhp, the manifold & full exhaust system don’t give massive gains for the GTI anyway, you might have pushed 140+ bhp with everything fitted but even with just a generic remap you should still see 133-135bhp

Shame to hear :(

How much would you be looking for when selling? Might be interested (or a swap + some cash to you for a set of G60 brakes?) I can collect too, so not too worry about postage costs.

Well I'm in the can for a shed load on this, guess I'll have to write off the fuel cost of collection from oop North and the fitting fee
I had the rear silencer twin tailpipe changed for a single pipe and was planning on getting a big ol' boy welded back on in its place before selling it on, however if sold as seen I'll take £130 for the lot - that's a Raceland manifold with a de-cat stainless exhaust system and even comes with spanking new clamps to hold all the sections together :D

Sorry, I've had a change of heart completely on the car and am looking to sell it, so not really planning on spending any more money on it except a service.

Thanks for getting back to me though! Hopefully it'll sell for that easily, esp. considering the cost new of the manifold alone. :)
