Did a bit of research and rather than getting a popper I'm gonna swap the air struts with the ones of the scirocco (£30 off ebay for a pair) these pop the boot open and allow you to just keep your normal key and do it with the boot button on there :)

Your car looks great bud, im liking the purple bits :-)
I would be interested in changing my boot struts aswell, will it be easy to do?? You'll have to take a vid if it works.

I think its just a case of undoing 4 screws on each, i tried turning the mount around 180 degrees as apparently that works on the mk6 golf but no dice unfortunately and I couldn't close my boot properly.

thats good i seen it on mk6 golf didnt no scirocco ones worked might get my self sum just to pop mine open lol

Read somewhere (on here?) that these push the rear door out and distort it?

My bad, you need Toledo struts and scirocco origin stops, the struts from the Toledo are even cheaper

just had a google and I'm not sure :( theres a few german forums about so I'm gonna do some proper research closer to the time of getting it done

Looks good mate gloss black grills actually make a subtle difference. Looks cleaner :)

Brilliant, just got a nice letter through the post from a solicitors - the woman I hit nearly a year ago (at 7mph) has claimed injury compensation.

I hate people these days

btw mate am sorry but am nicking your idea of plainting the lower grills gloss black, just thought ill let ya no before you find out and get a shock lol
