VW Original Parts - Lowering Springs Kit

Post by AJ_7 »

As per the VW Accessories Brochure in Germany, there is an VW OEM Lowering Spring Kit available for the 6R. This offers a 30mm drop on all four corners and for a fairly decent price. These are available in 3 differents weights, 830kg (6R0071677A), 860kg (6R0071677) and 960kg (6R0071677B). All for a respectable 139 EUR (£112) on ahw-shop.de

I have considered all the alternatives, but the reasoning I prefer these over the other springs, is for warranty/insurance purposes and the fact i'm an OEM whore. They're manufactured by Eibach who also offer a non-oem set of springs with a 30mm drop. Has anyone got/seen any pictures of a 6R with a 30mm drop all around?

Cheers in advance :)

Found a white 3 Door 6R like mine, lowered with the OEM springs and it looks well. Also has the Boavista's powder coated black which is also something I have considered but awaiting some kerbing before I do anything 8)

The standard springs are manufactured by Eibach and so are the lowered springs. I've sent the Service Manager at my local dealer an e-mail asking how much they'd be to fit if I sourced the parts myself. They are an OEM VW part and if you have them fitted at a dealer, there would be no quibbles with the warranty.

I've got kerbing on one of my alloys now so I think it's finally time. I think i'd go for Matt Anthracite though over black, the colour of most of the nice Audi wheels these days :) Boavista's in that colour would look sch-weeeeeet! :) As for these springs, they're only roughly £100 and apparantly the ride is better with these than the original springs!

Do you have the 1.2 TSI? If so that's fine :) If not, I wouldn't bother, you might as well rip off a GTi and keep that on the grill  I've seen a few GTI grilles with the red piping sprayed black and it looks sweet. Look in Hurdy's thread I think he has sprayed his black!
