Hi guys,
New to this site and was just wondering, if i were to put lowering springs on my polo would it void my insurance if something were to happen?

Welcome If you haven't told them yes it will cause you problems if they found out.

One thing to note is that -30mm is maximum possible lowering to use with std dampers according to manual.
And even then I can imagine that using such springs (that provide maximum possible lowering) would shorten dampers life anyway.
If it will break or start leaking it wont be covered by the warranty. Other then that OD shouldnt care.
People didnt report such problems yet as far as i know so its safe to assume that they wont start leaking on the first-second year.

Shouldn't affect warrenty if it's the Vw eibach kit that are 30mm all round...here in SA they didn't have a problem that my car was lowered because it was sourced and fitted from VW.
