Subwoofer wiring

Post by BoxBody »

I ordered a wiring harness a few monthes back to fit into my aftermarket stereo. Recently tried to fit a subwoofer and all went well until I tried to find the blue wire to connect my Remote wire from my amplifier too. There is no blue wire in the harness and im not sure where to wire the remote wire to. Any ideas?

the blue wire's for an electric up/down aerial. That bit of info may help if your harness is labelled.

Otherwise, this may help:

You could tap into the switched live that runs to the stereo. It would be ideal as you only want it on when the stereo is on anyway.

Only "issue" with that is the amp would be on whenever the ignition is on, even if the stereo isn't on.

AS per fonzoooroo's post, refer to this:

9n Polos use standard ISO10487 connectors. The wiring is per ISO10487 too, apart from constant +12v and switched +12v being reversed.

I had it into the live wire pin and overnight my battery got drained and I could not start the car. Probably because my amp was left on. Ive also tried every pin on the black connector and the amp only seems to turn on when I put it in the pin A4 (+12v Battery). So ive been doing this to use my sub, but every time I leave my car for long periods I have to disconnect the live wire fuse that runs to the amplifier so that it doesnt drain my battery. Just so confused that its only working in the A4 pin or that im doing something wrong?

Thanks.

Know what you mean, not something that would bother me as if I have my ignition on then I'm likely driving in which case I want my music on lol
