Si's 1.4 TDI 9N - "The Workhorse"

Well seeing as this is my first post thought i would introduce myself. My Names Si, am from St.Austell in Cornwall.

This is actually my first VW so there may be a few questions from me!

I have just bought a Polo 9N 1.4 TDi to use as my daily. It is as follows:

- Black (The colour i wanted)
- 70,000 on the clock
- 2 Owners from new (same family)
- Full VW Service History
- 12 Months MOT
- 4 Months Tax
- Cambelt done ad 55,000
- Serviced every 10,000
- New tyres all round.

Picked it up for £2100 which i thought was a very good price? Correct me if i'm wrong?

Think that's about it... not very interesting in know. It really surprised me how well it went for the tiny little engine in it! Im used to driving a Peugeot 207 GTi - Stage 1 (I know French!). Bought it home last night from Penzance (About 60 miles) and didn't exactly take it easy and averaged 62 MPG so pretty impressed!

Anyhow here's a pic from the advert. Haven't taken any myself yet



Future plans are:

- Oil and filter change - for piece of mind
- Add remote central locking (This will be my first question on here!)
- A set of BBS Montreal 2 Alloys
- Try and source leather (Research what fits etc..)
- Stage 1 remap
- Use it as a workhorse!

So my first question.. Fitting remote central locking? The car already has central locking just not remote..can anyone point me in the correct direction?

Great cars, i had my first one remaped to 110bhp and it was a right little beast.
As for remote central locking you can get an aftermarket kit and they are easy to install, check ebay.
There might be an easier way though.

Thanks.. fairly impressed with the tiny little engine and MPG. Had a look at a remote system on ebay, but not a clue how to start looking into fitting them!?
