Think somewhere along the fuel line has corroded a bit, will get it up on the ramps on wednesday.

Just waiting on bits now to finish, boot strut, grill pins, windscreen surround etc...

Front wheels poke a bit to much for my liking atm, so going to have a bit of a play with them, hopefully tracked saturday, then its mine :D

Last visit to see the car in the workshop today (i hope).

Only waiting on the passenger mirror, finish polishing, and some "bobbins" to arrive then it will be on the road.

Last pictures up on the ramps.

Oh and im really upset with how much the front wheels poke. Getting it sat right, will be the next thing on the list to do.

Yeah i needed a couple hoses made up on the fuel pump. £80 from VW, got the 2 made up for £51+vat in the end.

Waiting on a passenger mirror and 2 new tyres and then it should be ready to rock.

So after 6 months of owning the car, its finally back on the road.

Picked it up Friday afternoon from the workshop in the sunshine and headed down to marsh barton to get the tracking sorted out.

Image

When it was up on the ramps, we noticed the cv was possibly going to need replacing :?

Image

Not ideal when its MOT was booked for the following day. Tracking was put right, as it was well out.

Then drove it to Exminster garage for fuel. Filled her to the brim, went in paid got out and drove off. A quick look in my rear view mirror however showed what looked like a rather large puddle had been left behind. Pulled over to see a fair bit of fuel leaking from around the fuel pump.

Image

So back to the workshop i went. After an hour or so playing around the leak was fixed and i was back on the open road.

Took a couple pictures that evening.

So on to today, decided to get the car MOT'd anyway to see what would need to be done to get her through, old one expires the middle of august so have a little bit of time to get it right.

Off to Mr. Craft.

Image

Failed on 4 things.

1, Horn not working

2, Windscreen wiper working when it wants to, not when commanded to.

3, Rear fog light on the wrong side

4, The above shown CV joint.

So all in all pretty pleased with that. Also need to order a few parts to sort out the gear linkage, finding reverse can sometimes (always) be a struggle.

Got some more pictures in the woods on my way home.

Took it home and gave it a wash ready for Devon dub fest tomorrow.

So yeah there we have it guys. Its loud, bumpy, and rattles like michael j fox, but im in love with all of it.

Got a few more things planned for it, but for the moment its just a case of getting it mot ready and enjoying driving it.

Opinions good or bad really welcome.

They are open-mouthed!
Simply spectacular!

Why did you choose this color?
And you did not think black or white?

It was its standard colour from the factory, and its a bit of a rarer one at that.

Went to local dub show today and came away with this.

Mega happy as there were another 30+ cars in my category and a load of mk1's. Lost out to a mint lasha green LHD 2 door jetta so have no complaints. :)

Thanks dude, drives like you wouldn't believe, its tuned like a race car, second gear can easily chuck you back in your seat. I've changed the engine mounts back to normal one's as the new one's were so stiff, the whole engine vibrations was going through the body/windows/dash. Fells like your sat in a track car.

Its one of those thats really tiring to drive, but after 10 minutes out you just want to get back in it! :D
