Heater fan randomly stops for a second or two then continues

Hi,

Polo 1.9tdi, 2004. Climatronic.

The heater fan blows normally but every now and again it will randomly suddenly stop working for a second or two and then start working again, sometimes it does it many times over a short period and other times it only does it once or twice over a longer period. This happens regardless of what speed the blower is set to.

Any thoughts as to why this is happening?

The car is fitted with Climatronic.

Could be the fan speed resistor.

I'll find the how to guide and post it up, only a 20min job so worth a look.
