FK AK Street Coilovers

Post by Tmwarner »

I am looking into coilovers for my 2003 Polo and came across the FK AK Street coilovers, they are a lot more affordable than others but I am wondering if this compromises the ride?
Has anyone fitted these to their Polo and if so, what is the ride like? Not too hard?
Cheers guys.

How low do you want to go?

With coilovers it all depends how low you go. If your dropping it to get rid of the arch gap the ride will be harsh no matter what coilovers you get.

It's mainly to get rid of the arch gap.
If the ride is going to be roughly the same I'd rather spend less.
Cheers for the help :)

Theres probably high end stuff that inst too bad but I cant imagine it makes enough difference to go with the price tag especially if the cars never gonna see the track, but in all fairness mate I think the Polo isnt the most comfortable car to drop. Short wheelbase and a fairly stiff chassis make them bounce a little on crappy roads, motorways and good b roads are sound but on the crap roads where I live the missus Polo isnt great to drive. (Its on FK AK's) In comparison Ive had two Passats on cheap coils and they take the stick much better with the longer wheelbase and multiple control arm setup on the front, however its not exactly the car to be chucking in corners

im finally going for either the kw1 inox or the billsteins so comfort shouldnt be too bad to standard and agreed the polo is firm car with no performance benefits lol (not til you start fiddling anyway lol)

I had Eibach Pro street coilovers on my Polo and my lass has ebay specials on her Arosa that give a better ride, and shes lower than I had the Polo.
