Jacking point!

Post by dantheram »

Where is best to jack on the Gti?

mine has damage from someone jacking on the sill (where the rubber grommit is) and further in along the ridge under the the sill.

There should be a point at either end of the sill under the skirt where the metal is re-enforced. A section where it is almost twice as thick. It's very near each end and should be easily identified.

If jacking the rear, go under where the shock meets the axle on a block of wood

If jacking the front, go under the wishbone lower bolt with a block of wood

Safest way, with no damage
