There used to be a guy on eBay selling the red beading but unfortunately it doesnt seem to be available anymore
A lot of people use red tape now instead or you can paint the outer edge of the grill red as another option

Ahhh he's back selling it again now! Good old Terry Tibbs
It does fade after 12 months though and turns pink so I would still go for the tape or possibly paint the beading

It is water resistant and a nice shiny red, just like the ones from recent GTi models.
The rubber trim is junk, you need to glue it and the color fades quite soon
