Re: The GTI! - Alex's Thread - Another 6n2 GTI coming soon!!

Post by alexperkins »

So today I did this nice list....

Cambelt
Waterpump + Coolant
Fuel filter
LED indicator bulbs
Brake fluid
Auxillary Drive Belt
Replacement headlight washer
Other little maintenance tasks

I then went on to service the rear brakes, to find the pads are still the originals from 12 years ago!! As a result, they are very very rusty on the backing plates, and on one of the pads its come away from the backing plate!! So tomorrow I will pick up a new set of rear pads to get the car in a driveable state again lol 8)

Some new photos coming tomorrow :)

Yeah still got the Polo :D I don't see myself parting with it any time soon....or ever lol
Jack is all good. Thought about getting rid of his ed30 for a few weeks to get a Focus RS, until the little voice in his head (AKA me) made him realise hed miss the golf to much. He's still got loads o plans for it, but he's taking it slowly now (which I'm sure his wallet appreciates)

Done anything new to your ed30

PS. can I request a photo of your drive. Red Eddie and red Polo would look awesome together

Very nice! I did my rear ones the other day but never got around to doing the fronts. You've done an excellent job :)

My Dad painted them in fact so credit goes to him!!

More updates....

Genuine VW mudflaps are on their way after a difficult hunt finding a front set for a GTI, but sourced and posted 8)
LEDs coming for all the boot, interior, sidelights and number plate lights
LEDs fitted to the front indicators
Sunglasses holder fitted
Missing air pipe on its way
Ive swapped the sub out for my smaller blaupunkt one from the Edition 30 as it was just taking over the boot of which the polo doesnt have much of anyway!

And in other news ..... we did a little photoshoot....teaser pictures up later :D
