The lupo 6 speed box is totally different to the polo 5 speed, dont get me wrong you can still break them but are more hardy than the polo box.alexperkins wrote:Have you got a TPS price on it?
Nope, same problem, same bearings - just another gear.
I thought it was 3.4 litres as I had to get 4 bottles....but I may be getting confused with the Mk3
fitment is different, hydro clutch and a different diff and 6 gears that are shorter, so my 6th is like a polo's 5th.

I read that the engines have the same internals and characteristics, but the block casting is different. There are six speed sequentials out there, but 12 grand is a bit of a hefty price to pay! Most companies probably wont see a return in making complex aftermarket parts for cars with such a limited production run, so they dont bother. if i win the lottery i will get a super strong six speed produced! The lupo 6 speed box is totally different to the polo 5 speed, dont get me wrong you can still break them but are more hardy than the polo box.

Just to add something i Found out today
VW OEM oil is infact FULLY synthetic therefore unless its cheaper, OEM is the best option.

Cheers Alex, probably saved me a pretty penny!
Re: Millers 75W90 Gearbox Oil
You are right on the engine side, but as I said the gearbox is a completely different unit to the polo. the loop 6 speed is a 02T box.BBBaboonface wrote:I read that the engines have the same internals and characteristics, but the block casting is different. Re: Millers 75W90 Gearbox Oil
Its possible to do a loop GTI engine, gearbox, clutch transplant, is it not? Dont really see the advantage though, apart from a smoother clutch, especially considering the ratios you mentioned. May as well go the 1.8T route, surely a more common engine? mmmn 1.8Teeee (Homer simpson gargle) did anyone see Bobaturbo on you tube? its a 4wd mk2 golf but 1.8T, 1013hp Crazy fast! Soo er gearbox oil then? sorry!

Niiice!
sorry dont mean any offence there Georgen! should look around a bit more before letting my fingers flap up and down!
Do you get better fuel economy? gearbox oil, gearbox oil! still relevant now, yesss!
Re: Millers 75W90 Gearbox Oil
Lol no, prob worse economy as 6th same as your 5th, I can drive at 30 mph no problem in 6th and still pull on smoothly, advantages are I dont have a box made from chocolate and when I open her up she doesnt bog down as gears are closer, so much fun to be had and a lot of faster cars get a supriseBBBaboonface wrote:Niiice!sorry dont mean any offence there Georgen! should look around a bit more before letting my fingers flap up and down!
