Hey Jon you don't want to swap your interior with my GTi do ya?

Nah but seriously, I nearly had leather in my GTi but that car was a grand more expensive and the clutch was dodgy - even the dealer admitted so! Now I know that it might have led to pedal box issues, but in the end I went for the cheaper car anyway... I'd still have a leather and alacantra retrim if I had the cash... and it'd look like yours! :D

except its black and has GTi stamped all over it lol

Getting back to what I started here, I've found a company down in Apsley, nr Hemel Hempstead, who will take delivery of your GTi BBS rims and refurb them for £43.50 a pop. Sounds pretty good to me!!

And they'll finish them in black chrome for a little extra... :D

Yeah it is a bit of a problem - unless you can get hold of a cheap set of steels or something..?

*thinks of how a GTi on 13" steels would look  *

Luckily for me I can borrow the next-door-neighbour's empty garage for a week or so and get my 'rents to bring the wheels down from home in their car. Only thing left to do now is persuade them to make the trip 'darn sarf', lol :D

I'm sure some refurbers may be able to do some loan steelies or something.

For the price you pay I'd expect it!

It doesn't look like it with this company I'm afraid...

Prices aren't that bad though tbh:

> GTi 15" BBS alloy refurbed back to it's former glory: £43.50
> 'black chrome' finish: + £14
> Centre caps: + £5 (extra due to 'black chrome' finish, normally £2.50)
> Therefore: £62.50 per alloy

That's £250 for the lot. I reckon that sounds okay, cheaper than a new set of alloys!! I've e-mailed them and I'm now waiting for a reply to see if these numbers are right before sorting it out once and for all!

Update: Got an e-mail back from BVJ Engineering yesterday:

"Simon,

So just to confirm, you would like the rims diamond turned again and the centres in the black chrome. I would be able to do these for you at £60 per wheel and the work would take 1 week to complete. Re the caps though, I though that these were just a small cap with a VW logo on them, in which case there would not be a lot we could do with these and you would probably be better with new ones. Let me know if I am wrong about the caps.

Regards
Andrew"

Now all I have to do is get down there with my alloys :D

Si,

Did you get the wheels sorted with that firm for £60 each? What sort of job did they do?

Cheers,
Simon

Erm... nope I haven't done anything about it  I've been very lazy about it all plus I've found a place in Wolverhampton (only 30 miles away rather than 150+ to London) that'll do the same finish - still to phone them for costs though!

Sorry!!
