A golf mk4 slip ring is really not needed.
If you have ESP, the original polo slipring will fit perfectly
If you dont have ESP, dont bother, align the polo slipring to the back of the mk5 or mk6 wheel, with 3 cut off points from a black permanent marker,
Push it on, so it leaves 3 black dots on the back of the mk5 wheel, drill the 3 4mm holes and screw both together.
Thats all needed to fit mechanically
As for the airbag, cut of the plug of the polo slipring, get a mk5 or mk6 wiring loom and cut of the airbag plug as well.
Solder the plug from golf wiring loom on the 6n2 slipring, and be carefull to solder the tiny resistor in the plug the same way as it was, really easy to see if you clip the back of the connector open.
Dont forget to insulate the whole thing thoroughly.
Works perfectly with the mk5 airbag in my polo 6n2 gti, never saw the airbag light coming up, no errors in vcds as well.
As for the horn, check out these to links below. Seems a bit complicated but basicly when pressing the golf horn the two metal plates inside the airbag (normally distanced by 4 springs)
touch each other. Connect the wire from the 6N2 slip ring to the upper metal plate connector in the airbag the most far away from the steering column, and make a new wire going from the lower metal plate connector to
a grounding point, the big 24mm nut is perfectly suitable for this.

As a mk6 golf wheel will fit a mk5 without any problems i dont see why you couldnt use a polo slipring to fit the mk6 wheel (with a mk6 airbag plug)
Im from holland btw so apologies for the language![]()
Certainly worth it imo
Brilliant thank you!! Just what I needed!! I will give this ago over the winter!
