AirCon turns on with blowers?

Hey, I've noticed when I turn the blowers onto the windscreen the aircon comes on automatically. Or sometimes driving along the motorway with the blowers on but no aircon, i'll look down and suddenly its turned itself on. Is there any way to disable this? it's a bit annoying having to turn it off all the time because its wasting petrol etc. Its a polo match 1.2 if that helps. Thanks for any help!

The aircon comes on when you select windscreen to help demist the windows.

Im wondering the same, is there anyway to disable auto aircon when switching to front windscreen?

It does my head in how it comes on automatically. I just keep the blower on 1 now instead of turning it off. Would be nice to know if you can turn it off with VCDS.

Yeah id like to be able to turn it off, it doesnt seem to clear the windscreen any faster anyway. Could it damage the A/C eventually if you've just been putting it on for a second then turning it back off??
