Re: Using Oil!
Right, the car went in for the 'fix' at 22,997 miles and the oil light came on this morning at a little over 25,000 miles.
So 2,000 miles after the fix the light is back on...

Re: Using Oil!
So the fix doesn't work in your case then. Thought about rejecting the car?
Re: Using Oil!

Slightly better, going to speak to VW to see what the next approach is.skipster wrote:I would say that is better but it is still not right. Is yours MY2011 Stu? ie earliest spec?
I have thought about it but it would probably be too much fuss and a waste of my time. I'm not losing any money running the car as VW are paying for oil.rover220 wrote:So the fix doesn't work in your case then. Thought about rejecting the car?
Re: Using Oil!
Yes - same here, I am provided the oil for free but it is still a pain with this never ending issue. In a nutshell, early signs are that the oil breather has improved matters, but not fixed it.
Re: Using Oil!
still waiting on vw uk to get back will give them a call in a bit
Using Oil!
I've had problems with oil burning as well for about 4 months. Finally bit the bullet and stripped the engine, turned out to be piston no.3's oil ring was non existent.
So new piston rings, big end shells and head gasket set including stem oil seals. Timing kit and waterpump. A lot of cash but runs brand new now.
