Retro Fitting Cruise Control Update

Well I have finally ordered the indicator stalk with the cruise control switches on it. The erwin manual is not much help here. Just says there are no parts to replace apart from the switch and it is manged by the fuel injection managment system. However, there is a wiring diagram available. Outch!

Fuse 20 is blank and labeled up for CC.

I know people have been talking about retro fitting CC and wonder if they would like to tell us (me) how it went. Does the light work on the dash. (1 O' clock from the right indicator light?)

Links from the net refere to removal of the dash to get to the wires. I assume this is to trace the new wire through the existing loom upto the ECU. I am also assuming that there are shortcut ways, as before i have always bypassed the fuse box placing fuses directly on the auxillary appliance from the battery live feed for amps, CB radios etc. I had a nasty insident playing with a fuse box on an older Polo once before. Blew up the fuel pump motor. Helps if you disconnect the earth strap.

Any tips hints etc. Please post them on.

Today I fitted the indicator stalk with CCS on.

I also enabled the cruise control using vag-com. There is part of the wiring loom missing, that connects into the indicator stalk then into the Onboard Supply Control Unit under the steering column.

The pin assignments are:

Indicator Stalk (6) - T41/26, T41/27, T41/28, T41/29 T41/30 and T41/31

OSCU (6) - Sorry continue later

From the erWin manuals I am a little confused to where the other end of the indicator stalk wires go. There is a blank 6 pin socket on the onboard power supply control unit (J519). Following the wiring diagram it looks as though some of the pins should go into this socket. The erWin manuals have two diagrams for the same thing but they are labeled up differently which is helpful! I am going by the one which is right for the CCS diagram (T6y or XS3 brown connector).

The confusion is what A130 (in a circle) is on the CCS wiring diagram. Pins T41/26, T41/29 and T6y/3 go onto this wire. It is labeled as Connection (cruise control system), in dash panel wiring harness. Do you know where and what A130 is exactly? I cannot find it on any fitting location diagram.

I am wondering if it goes on the back of the speedo box (Control unit with display unit in dash panel insert (J285))?

There is also A100 (in a circle) on the fuse line (SB4). It is labeled up as Connection -2- (87), in dash panel wiring harness. Is this on the back of the fuse box? or agaain on J285. What is -2-? I assume the 87 is something to do with the scale on the bottom of each wiring diagram?

Any help would be much appreciated.
