I am right in thinking there were only 1000 made in each colour?! There wernt some more knocked out without me knowing?

Ah right! I thought there were 500- 3 doors, and 500- 5 doors, of each colour

Forget stickers, we've now found a reason to explain the 1's on the seats to 'the unwashed'

A lot less than i expected. Red seems quite rare then. Sad to know that a lot have been destroyed, broken, taken off the road but knowing that there are so little makes a seem a bit more special. Thanks for doing this Verity.

I suspect the numbers of good GTI's will be halfed in the next 2 years, the goverment scrappage scheme is murdering good cars

Awesome idea Verity!! Let's all get stickers made when you get the results. (that's a half serious suggestion)

We'll start a thread and choose numbers between 1 and ????, have the stickers/vinyl produced and place them all on the same places on our cars
