Recently had two new wishbones.Planning on investing in a Dodo juice da polisher as a xmas pressie for myself and getting the paint in better nick,then front end respray at the end of jan and wheel refurb at the end of feb ready for show season.Any ideas for wheel colours would be good but im thinking gloss black,or maybe just matt black again to keep the red and black theme going

Can I ask why you had the wishbones changed? I only ask as I've got issues with the front end alignment. I was thinking worn bushes but I'm open to suggestions! Cheers, keep up the good work btw

A couple of days after i had the new tyres fitted i noticed my steering wheel was slightly off centre.When i went and got the tracking checked one of the bushes had split.Its only costs a few quid more to change the whole wishbone so i decided to get them both changed as the other looked abit worn.Hope this is of some help to you.

Cheers, did you put standard bushes back in or go for polly bushes?

Nothing to much to update but ive ordered a couple of little things for the polo for christmas.Treated her to some LED sidelights because im sick of the standard ones looking amber next to the xenons,and ordered a da polisher to try and liven the paintwork up after ive had the front end painted at the end of jan/start of feb.

Still undecided on a wheel colour so any ideas welcome,thinking gloss or matt black still but other suggestions and opinions would be good.

Right,i haven't updated this in along time but i have still been doing things to the polo so il try and update it more often from now on!

Ive made a new cold air feed for my BMC.Ive used 70mm aluminium tubing,joined with some samco coupling hoses,then used a very small amount of ducting for the final piece so that it goes into the wing as the original did.
first i painted the aluminium in VHT Wrinkle paint to keep the red and black theme going



Then a pic of it fitted with the hoses


And a before and after pic so you can see what its replaced



I also painted my rear VW badge in the same paint


Then carbon wrapped the backing to it


I have fitted it but haven't taken any pics yet

Then i started work on a basic boot build

I measured what i wanted,then i set to work.First i made a cardboard template


Then i started on the box for my sub



This was all sealed with silicone after the pics were taken

Then i started on the floor



Then the box was fitted



Mounted my amp and wired it in


Then i covered it in leather look vinyl



Since then i have recovered it in the same vinyl but with 6mm scrim foam underneath it so its padded.

Ive also fitted some LED sidelights but dont have any pics of them.
I wil try and keep this updated more from now on.
Any comments would be appreciated good or bad

looking good mate. Nice job on the cold air feed. Do you find it quieter though with the metal rather than the tube. I tried it and it completely took the sound away from it

Cheers endi I did do this once before and like you said, it did kill all the noise that is why i went for ducting originally.But since then ive had a exhaust so i decided i wasn't to bothered about the induction noise so i thought id go back to the alu tubes for asthetics.But this time its slightly louder than with the ducting so i dont know whats changed to be honest.The only thing that is different is that the first time i just let the feed end where the alu pipe reached to(behind the headlight),this time ive used a small piece of the old ducting to extend it to the whole in the inner wing where the original air feed went (when it was the old ducting this is where it went to aswel).Hope this makes sense lol

Yeah ok man so it must resonate through in the wing then and thats why it is so much louder. Looks great though mate. One of my favourite other red ones

i also forgot i have removed the players sticker from the windscreen.
And in other news the car is booked in for some other work next week and i should have it back friday so watch this space
