Evening all .New to this forum so be gentle . Just bought a 53 plate TDi sport .It,s got remote locking ,e/windows ,and when locking with key the windows close ,but ,should the windows close when locked via the remote as well ?
Also ,do these cars auto lock the doors a few seconds after turning the ignition on /starting ,which I think my daughters Arosa Tdi does ,then unlocks when key is removed from ignition .
And what mpg should I expect from just running about .
Any advice appreciated .
Windows up via remote fob ?
Re: Windows up via remote fob ?
Good buy getting a diesel you won't regret the extra cost over the petrol - IMO It's way worth it! I'm presuming you got the 1.4tdi? You probably should expect somewhere around 55mpg. In regard to remotely putting the windows up, unfortunately this isn't possible on the polo, not sure why but when I did a search on this I found that you can't do it.
You can program the doors to auto lock - they lock at 10mph and is cool plus a safety bonus! However, you will need access to vagcom to do it. Hope this helps & happy motoring

Re: Windows up via remote fob ?
I enabled auto lock/unlock on my Tdi, but got rid of it after 6 months since my friends were nearly yanking the door handle off whenever I drop them off with the engine running. The door doesn't open first pull, so they pull harder
You can still lock the doors via the key-shaped button on the drivers door if you're going through a rough area or something
Another good thing to enable with VCDS (or disable, in this case) is selective unlocking. With it off, all of your doors will unlock with one click, with it on, it takes one click to open the drivers door and another to open other doors and boot = pain. If all your doors unlock with one click already then disregard this
MPG you're looking at around 45mpg around town, 60+ on motorway runs. I get 52.7 combined according to Fuelly.com
Hope this helps!
And get some pictures up!

My mistake, I assumed the Sport model only came in 1.9! I would imagine the economy for the 1.4tdi is even better than what I quoted.K.I.T.T. wrote:Ben, is yours a 1.4 too?
Good idea, get it running sweet before mods and she won't let you down.
In response to Mark I think you can enable auto lock/unlock no matter what the engine is. The dealers will probably like to charge you £73,000 to do it but all you need is two minutes with a full version of VCDS and a Ross-Tech cable.
Re: Windows up via remote fob ?
You will if you drive carefully on a long journey 70+mpg that is if you keep the revs max 2000 normally driving around and about you should be able to achieve 60+mpg unless short journeys as that will kill the mpg big style.
