HI FELLAS AND LADIES?
Hi just joined the forum after reading up on things. I have a 1.4 2010 polo in flash red with the boavista alloys tints comfort pack and rns 510. Loving the car only had it a month. Want to do one or two little things first like bulbs , reverse and numberplate and interiors but trying to find out how to get at em!! not very technical minded --any ideas guys?
Re: HI FELLAS AND LADIES?

HI FELLAS AND LADIES?
Hi mate. Happy New Year! & Welcome to the site
First off, buy decent bulbs, not cheapos! You get what you pay for. Make sure they are canbus.
Numberplate bulbs, i recommend going for the complete LED housing from hids4u. Thats what i have in my GTI and they are truely awesome. These are simple to change, just get a flat blades screwdriver and they flick out.
Sidelights and headlights, best way to change these is to undo the 2 torx screws that hold the actual headlamp in place, unclip the power cable from the back of the headlamp and then pull the headlamp towards you. Quick and easy, takes all of 5 mins
bulbs are bery easy to change. I have the H7R 5000k which are pure white, with no blue tinge. OEM xenon colour, and the matching LEDS in the sidelights. Again from hids4u.
Rear lights are just on a spring clamp. Just turn it until it releases, then pull the whole rear light cluster out towards you. Ive just put an LED bulb in the reverse light.
Bulb types are:
Sidelights - t10 / 5w5 / 501
Dipped beam - H7
High bean - H7
Numberplate - http://www.hids4u.co.uk/vw-led-number-plate-light.html
Reverse light - 382
Interior - all mostly t10 / 5w5 / 501s
Next on my too do is the fog lights / drl
sorry for the long post, hopefully thats off some use to you.

Thanx for all the replies and for the extra effort from NMavs cheers fella now just a case of buying and doin
Re: HI FELLAS AND LADIES?
The car used on the HID4u web site is mine
yes they are bright but the camera has made it look bleached. Although i have had work collegues that have been behind me say they are fookin bright and from far away you cannot see the plate. I have had a look from far away myself and i can still read the plate.
Re: HI FELLAS AND LADIES?
No problem at all matey. We are all here to help one another
And as Candyman says, they are bright, but they don't look out of place. Ive been stopped many of times in underground car parks by people asking where they can get them
And LED festoon bulbs which are your other option for the numberplates really are hit and miss. Ive spent too much on replacing rubbish led bulbs, ive had these numberplate lamps for about 3 years now, and still going strong
