Natural Camber?

Post by Cooke »

Alright guys,

I was wondering wether anyone could tell me if the front suspension set up on a 9n3 is prone to natural camber when lowered? I'm curious about this because I now have a GTI and suffer from bad wheel spin and understeer, I realise this will partly be down to me and my heavy foot and the tyres too but I've been running new Pirelli P Zeros (which I have heard aren't the best in anything other than bone dry conditions), but I had a quick look at my tyres the other day and the drivers side wheel seemed to be worn more on the inside edge than anywhere else.

Another thing related to this is on my old 9n3 which was also lowered on coilovers, I noticed both front tyres were well worn on the inside edges when I removed the wheels for selling. Is this a common issue, and is there any solution to it?

Cheers.

The drivers side tread on my 9n3 has always been a problem, all the "snipes" are worn away...

This is a problem with the set up on the polo as you cant amend the camber on the front without getting adjustable top mounts.

These usually cost in the region of £300

Compbrake however do a set for £165 (MK5 golf ones fit our Polo's)
http://www.compbrake.com/suspension/top ... -3373.html

Have a look at this link as there is a guy on here doing them for £90 delivered

I have just placed an order with the guy and they will be with him next week some time so with me by the following week

I'll keep you all posted if you're interested.
