A few things:

Got my eyes on a set of Montreal II alloys which I'm thinking of getting and painting black.
Custom exhaust from Pro Speed, heard lots of good things about those guys.
Either Eibach or H&R springs, leaning towards the Eibach Pro springs after reading about.
Then a few minor mods, debagde grille, pressed plates, yellow tint on fogs and GTi headlights.
Maybe get my rear windows tinted as well and maybe get a engine remap.

Sounds good mate - I've got:
Pressed plates - ebay job (can get you the sellers name if you want) and they are good as gold!
Yellow light tint film - ebay again, used a hair drier to heat and apply and looks awesome
GTI headlights - came on my car but make such a difference in my opinion

I'm planning to get some decent coilover suspension. However my friend had Eibach Proline springs on his Ibiza (same chassis as our polo) and it made his car handle much better. Don't expect a good drop in height as 25-30mm is the max they will go as the 1.6 sport is already 15mm lower - so realistic drop of 10-15mm. I want to get my rear windows tinted too but need to find a good enough place to do it first :)

If you tell me the seller that would be great! Cheers mate!
Yeah, I've ordered some yellow fog bulbs and some tint film from lamin-x.

I would love coilovers but I had some budget ones on my clio and the ride comfort was terrible, so I don't really want to go for the budget £200ish ones (JOM, FK etc.), if I were to get coilies I would get the half decent ones but I can't justify spending that much on them.
Improved handling and a slight drop will do me for now so I retain some comfort, the H&R springs drop by about 5mm more than the Eibach Pros but I've heard they cause the standard shocks to leak, whereas the Eibachs apparently used to be VW's "official" lowering springs. Hopefully that 15mm drop and putting 16's on won't leave too much of a gap between the tyre and the wheel arch.

That's the buyer I used, like I said was very impressed with the quality of the plates and you can order with or without the GBR markings and they're legal.

Yeah I've heard too much of a drop on standard shocks destroys them. Can't really go wrong with Eibach as they've been providing OEM suspension for years. I was going to go for springs but want full adjustment so I'm going to put good money towards the coilovers as suspension is something I want to do once and do it right!

Nice one, thanks for that!

Yeah you can't go wrong with a decent set of coilies. Any idea of what ones you are going to go for?

Well I've used V-maxx coilovers before on my Mazda MX5 and I found them to be faultless, they're mid-range as well so can imagine them being fairly good on the polo. Also looked at KW Variant 1 Basic coilovers as they were recommended to me in the past! Still got a while to think about it and I'll probably wait until next month at least seeing as I spent this months car money on new wheels hah!

Just fitted my K&N air intake, the sound it makes is amazing.
Just wanted to make sure I have fitted it correctly because I am not exactly a mechanic. Here's how it looks:

Image

I removed the air box, put the intake straight onto the throttle body, breather hose from the engine to the intake and then just left the big tube (don't know its proper name) cable tied attached to nothing. Is that meant to be attached to nothing? Have I installed it properly or is my engine going to explode within the next 50 mile.

Fitted some gti headlights and a debadge honeycomb grille (thanks jem-9n3), also tinted my fogs and put some yellow xenon bulbs in them. Just needs a good clean now, but that can wait till tomorrow.

Cheers mate.
Going to get the ball rolling a bit and then start a build thread. Just fitted the gti rear valance and getting a bespoke exhaust system fitted next weekend from Pro-Speed, then I'll see where to go from there, probably going to get window tints.

Dying to get a set of TT Comps, preferably in black, but still waiting for someone to buy my OZ's from my old car first.
