Mapping advice and outcome

Hi guys, fairly new to the forum but had my GT for a while. Recently started modifying it, ive got a hybrid turbo, egr delete and also front mount intercooler to put on, but wondering what I should do on the mapping side of things? Would the revo software do the job? Or should I look for a more custom map? Also what else would I need if I was looking for 200bhp?

Hi, custom mapping is the way to go for sure, REVO only do a stage 2 map for the tdi's (and you have to request that directly from them).. Do you know which hybrid it is? Sounds like youve got most of the bits and pieces already for 200bhp..do you know which hybrid you have?

Hi mate, thanks for the reply! Ye I thought the revo would be no good, but unsure if anywhere does custom mapping up beside me(Aberdeen)
The turbo is a GT1749VA with a 360 degree thrust bearing. Hope that answers your question!:)

mate forget REVO nothing but a generic map, utter s**t. tbh given the craze that has been going on the tdi forums i would only go with darkside developments! Ryan is a great guy who really knows his stuff! they only deal with VAG tdi Engines.

im deciding whether to get their gtb 2260vk kit or get another car when i finish uni this year.

but there are other companies, p-torque, custom code, jabbasport and r-tech to name a few...

p.s. add an exhaust mate and you could look for well over 200 bhp it ranges from 210-240 after that injectors become an issue.

Ye I had thought revo might have been a bit generic! Just wondering how hard it will be to find a decent mapped up my way! I've seen a lot about dark side and it all looks really good! Got my egr delete from there, customer service is amazing. Would be going there if I wasn't so far away.ive always had doubts about putting an exhaust on a diesel... Would it be possible to get one that wouldn't make a massive change in sound? Also I'm totally skint just now so think that will have to wait! Haa. What sort of front mount you going for when you upgrade the turbo?

Jabbasport are very good and know what they are doing.. Had all my Tdi's mapped there.. With the mods your looking at doing I would recommend having them do a custom map.

Ive got a Seat Sport cooler.. Does the job as good as anything. Can pick them up with pipework for not too much. I dont have any experience with exhausts other than my milltek. Its not crazy loud tho, just a bit gruff lol

CC tuning in burton on trent did a good job of my remap. I'll see if i can find the graph, the torque and power curve are super smooth.

Chris the guy who did it really knew his stuff and explained to me that intake temperatures are the main things you need to keep your eye on when your remap a vag tdi. Once mine was remaped he ran three full power runs in a row to make sure the intake temps didnt get to high and it maintained the power.

Would driving 350 miles be safe on the standard Map with the new turbo etc? Hoping to find somewhere up here that can do a decent map!

Ye the seat sport looks like a great piece of kit! But being a student money was a bit tight when I got the intercooler so I just went for the darkside core, cost £60, then made my own pipe work. Cost me about £230 all in for core and pipe work so saved me a good bit! Probably won't cool as good due to size thought.

should be fine because youll be running standard boost i think! but just ring darkside and pop the question mate to be 100% sure .
