What HID kits you running ?

Post by Craigy »

Right I bought an HID kit a while back and it was the wrong one so sold it on

Anyway I have been told I need an H4 hi/lo kit. Is this right ?

If its the S,S A/C or Bluemotion you will need H4 Hi/Lo's, any other model uses the H7 type bulb

HIDS4U are overpriced to be honest

The kits are identical to that which you can get on ebay for between £30 and £45 depending on the options you choose

rclick.co.uk stock a good range at a much better price

I got the R version to stop excess dazzle and a twelve month warranty. Excellent quality and customer service, my ballast failed a few months ago and they sent me a new one next day delivery. You just need to make sure they are seated properly with double sides tape or similar, I used UHU glue.

http://www.car-mod-shop.co.uk/35wcanh4- ... 6000k.html

i have emailed the seller to confirm if this is actually a H4 kit or not. The description is for a H$ CanBus kit, but the picture is of a H3.. if its ok, then i think i will get those

Nope the Match has the H7 type bulbs as the high beam and low beam use different bulbs, you'd ideally want to get the H7R HID kit as this reduces glare.

why they didn't just install the same headlight units into all of the cars i do not know.

i don't think there is an option for 'R' reduced glare from that shop

Cost cutting, so they could give leccy windows and a CD player lol, yeah there's only the R type for the H7 as of yet.

had a quick look at the back of the light and its not a very clean looking flush backplate to the light seal. looks like its made up of 4 blocks. i guess this poses a problem in terms of sealing the installation? or will the rubber grommets be ok?
