Newbie...hello!

Post by Valver »

Firstly, hope this is in the correct section! (please move it if it isn't)

Just got back from buying a Mk4 Polo 1.4 CL - black 3dr, 97P plate. FSH, 82k, pas, ew, em, rhr etc very nice standard car.
It's gonna be my wifes car but I've got some plans for it as I'll be using it while my Mk2 Golf is off the road having its VR6 transplant done.

Will have a good look round the site but any tip/ideas appreciated. I'm not into bodykits at all, more of a euro style person ie. low on coilovers, 8x15 rims, red rear lights, clear fronts etc........what else?.....

I bought a 1.4 (6n) CL for the wife, and as a winter car while my classics stay under wraps but so far

1. Clear fronts and sides
2. GTi Rear Lights (sort of smoked and red)
3. Alloys to replace the steels (13' but it needed tyres and the alloy had almost new ones and at £90 it was too good to miss)
4. Zender tailgate spoiler - colour coded.

and thats about it.....

15' wheels would be next but whilst I'm wearing out the tyres

1. Stopping it rolling on corners (roll bar to be sourced from a wrecker as soon as I can find one)

2. Getting it to breathe better (it's so bloody asmatic after 3500 rpm)

and

3. Trying to quieten the road noise at cruising speeds on dual carriageways/motorways (55mph lovely 60mph bearable 65mph not so and anything above bloody noisy (and I normally sit at 75mph) - I might have to post a question on this in a separate topic.

are my current priorities

If I can get a black one yes - I dislike the alloy coloured ones and round here for some reason they fall off the car when parked anywhere......

yeah i know wot u mean, my 16v bagde has "fell" off the front before 2, i even found its little clips that held it on under the car in tescos car park, must of been the wind!
ive never been able to find an anti-theft black aerial either. as u say there all chrome or anodized. at the mo mines just screw in, but i feel its life will be short. if u ever find one let me know

I managed to find myself a shortened black aerial at GTi International !!
Im the same i dont like the anodised/alloy style myself....theres too much break of colour...as in roof colour (of car) then black stubby bit, followed by silver (generally) aerial !!

At least im lucky.....i managed to find one after searching everywhere for one !!
