Re: Greg's Progress Thread :)
Havn't updated on here for a very long time!
Not much has changed in the last few months on the car. Had a few little niggles that have been sorted -
Got in the car one morning, and the LCD in my auto-dim rear view mirror had broken so the glass was two different colours! I managed to win another one on ebay which was replaced within a couple of days
My front right passenger side indicator had something very odd happen to it aswell! I was washing the car the other day and i noticed the silver reflective cover that goes over the bulb had fallen off and was rolling around inside the light! Luckily i was still in my 2 year warranty from TPS, so it has been replaced
!
Ever since i've owned the car, the clutch hasn't been right. It suddenly got worse in the last week, so I had to take the plunge and buy a new one, with all the bits (release bearing etc). My hero of a brother and Dad spent 9 hours on it yesterday, and replaced it all - it drives like a new car now! Amazing how a clutch can make a car feel totally different! When they took the old bearing out, it was completely shattered in bits and this had made the clutch wear. But thankyou to Alex who spent alot of time on it getting it back perfect!
As far as modifications go, I havn't done anything to it. The car is on 106,600 miles and but still drives spot on, even better now the clutch is done! I still keep the interior regularly cleaned and vacummed along with a weekly wash to keep it looking fresh

Nice choice mate
very good looking cars
Are you doing a lot more miles now or do you just fancy a TDI to try something different?

Nice colour choice
TDI's can be fun and return brilliant MPG
I love the 6R bluemotion TDI, might have to get one of them in the future

Re: Greg's Polo GTI :) - Up for sale soon!
Well today was the day I had to say goodbye to the GTI
Had a very keen VW enthusiast buy it, and im glad its going to a good home that will take care of it! Been in the family for 5 years and I'm going to miss it a lot!
But on the other hand, I am collecting my new car next weekend
It is a 1.2 TDI match in candy white with 16" knight alloys and rear privacy glass. Can't wait for 10:30am next Saturday!
Not going to go mad with it modifications wise - got the usual LED bulbs for number plate, side lights etc. Bought some Philips x-treme visions for the dipped beam. May install a xenon kit further down the line. Not going to do any engine modifications as that defeats the object of the huge MPG on the new polos.
I only have the one picture atm, but will upload some more next weekend!
