Polo GTI Abs/Esp/Wheel Sensor Warning Lights

Post by Tsineas »

Hello everyone!

Few day ago when I was in the pharmacy store my gf was sitting in the car.
When she spotted me, she started the car. When I got in the car I saw 3 warning lights.

My first thought was a bad sensor somewhere.

Next day took my car for VCDS scan and it showed it was a faulty sensor.
My tuner changed the sensor... The lights was still there.
He scanned again and it was showing the same code.

Left the car there for deep inspection.

The code is 00287 - ABS wheel Speed Sensor; Rear Right (G44)
012 - Electrical Fault in Circuit
http://wiki.ross-tech.com/wiki/index.php/00287

The brakes locks incase someone wonders.

So what do you think guys it can be?

1) The cables from sensor to abs central/pump?
2) ABS central/pump fail?
3) Someone had something similiar?

The car is Revo stage 2 Polo GTI -09 just over 70000km around 44k UK miles?

Damn gf hurted my baby girl hehehehe

did your mate multimeter the new sensor to ensure it was a OK before fitting? its not unheard of to have a dud sensor out the box

The sensor was good. Seems like the cable have been damages somewhere in the circuit!

use another speed sensor and try it to see if that clears the fault. if it does then the wiring is fine and your sensor is at fault I had this problem at the front. The sensors get them from a scrappy doesn't matter if it is for drums or discs for the polo as the sensors are the same. if I remember correctly they are sided though.
