Lights sorted, Now I've got a tapping sound when the clutch is pressed all to the floor, & has anyone ever tackled a clutch on a 6n2 and lived to tell the tale?

Cheers guys

Probably the release bearing or something in and around there

I've changed four 6N2 clutches lol. It's a task and a half to say the least.

About 7 hours work give or take.

You need a good array of tools as some of the bolts are a joke to get to!

The whole box doesn't have to come out does it?
Seen some vids on clutches, majority you can do by pulling the box out only a little to get the alingment tool in

The whole box has to come off. There's no way to get to it on the polo otherwise :(

Yeah, you can do it on axle stands

The hardest part is getting the gearbox back on afterwards as its difficult to line up

Changing the clutch takes all of five minutes!! That's the frustrating part.

As Alex said the most time consuming part is getting the box back on as there is such little room. In hindsight i'd probably take the front end off and do it that way instead.

If you can get the car high enough, its not too bad getting back on.

You just need a big jack with a large lifting plate else its a bit precarious.

Itll still take an hour to line it up mind lol

what ive done on my car, is wire up a boot popper, aswell as the handle, using your rclick, wire in a relay and to the boot popper, but you can pop the boot whether its locked or not... or wire up one of your central locking wires to the origional central locking actuator on the gti boot?

Do you not need to open to boot to install an Rclick boot popper tho? Or can I some how open the boot from going through my rear seats?

Just swap the handle from your old tailgate.

The old Tailgate is in storage somewhere and could be a bit hard to get hold of
