Re: New member with some problems
car still running great apart from clutch issue. quick refurbed the wheels over the easter weekend too. cleaned up the centers and polished the outer rim. they arent 100% but a vast improvement over the old grotty, worn look they did have. so after doing a bit of homework the sachs clutch seems to be a favourite. anyone suggest a decent supplier of the sachs clutch kit? they seem to be few and far between these days. so far cheapest ive found is £156

Re: New member with some problems
I think sachs kits are a little over rated
Ive fitted 3 LUK clutches, using genuine VW release bearings to 3 different GTIs and all run sweet as a nut
Euro will sell the clutch trade for nearly £75, and the release bearing is £29 from VW so its win win

Re: New member with some problems
Not sure if this is going to work as I only use flickr for forum images but I'll give it a shot. Finally got round to taking an image of the Polo.
So far I have done the following:
Replaced ABS module
Replaced Camshaft sensor
Replaced 2x ABS Sensors
Replaced front discs and pads
Replaced plugs and leads
Service, including gearbox oil and fuel filter
Kind of refurbed the wheels. By that I mean I used the forum guide to get the rims polished up.
Replaced clutch cable
Replaced coolant temperature sensor
Replaced sidelights with White LEDs
Things to do are
New clutch kit
Replace CV Rubber boots
Replace front Gti badge
Replace/polish up the faded headlights
Re-paint calipers and rocker cover
Get scratch in rear door/quarter panel/petrol cap sorted
All of the above could not have been done without the very kind assistance from you guys and the info on this forum. so many thanks

I know right, just not nearly as mint. Shame about this scratch though take a closer look and all is not as it seems. How do i tackle this bad boy? Been quoted £300-£1000 by various body shops. One bodyshop quoted £1000 for this scratch and then an extra £400 to respray the door handles , trim (lacquer peel) and bonnet. I swiftly rejected their offer seeing as I only paid £110 for the entire car!

Here's how them wheels looked before the refurb. As you can see pretty rotten.
