Extras or retrofit?

Post by Riske »

I had a quick look and couldn't find much..apologies if it's already out there.

My question is, do we have a list of extras for the 6r that can be added after which saves money on adding them at the factory?
I don't mind retrofitting few things like bixenon headlights or satnav etc but does it work out cheaper?
Can the rns 510 be retrofitted?
Thanks in advance

RNS510 is probably cheaper to retrofit, but bixenons most definately are not (About £3k)

The RNS510 should be just a case of switching out your stock radio for one and add GPS antenna.

The Bi-Xenon's are at diffenrent matter... To make it legal with sensors on the front and rear axel is gonna be very expensive... And it also requires that the central Electric system supports Bi-Xenons. Otherwise your gonna need to change that out too.

Bi-Xenons are cheaper to order with the car from new.

I've put the RNS-510 into mine...

It's a very simple job, just pull out your RCD310, sick a GPS antenna somewhere under the dash, put the RNS 510 back in. Functions like the glovebox MDI and aux-in work perfectly. great upgrade and cost me less than £450!

VW want over £2000 for that!

Here's what VW can fit for you: http://www.volkswagen.co.uk/owners/acce ... /polo-2009

Great thank you for all the help! I'll remove the RNS 510 extra and save some cash.
