new here!!

Post by lollypop »

hiya,
not sure if this is the correct area to be posting but couldnt find a welcome section..anyway as youve guessed I'm new here and to the polo scene and have px'ed my beloved fn2 type R in for a 2010 tdi polo(not sure what mk it is tho?)
i wondered if many people on here have the new shape or is it mainly the older shape??
altho its only a 1.6 tdi..i do like modding my cars slighty to achive the more stylish(sexy) look.. so ive already lowered it slighty and looking to put some gti alloys on (when i can find some) would also like to map it and tint the windows..so any help on this would be much appreciated.

This particular forum section is for the newest model of the Polo from 2010 and forward. :)

As it is writen in the forum name it's the Mk VIII (8) Polo. ;)

Tinted windows. I'm stuck. I don't know whether it'll look stupid to get mine done. I mean the back and back side are tinted.... Then the front clear. :S

I'm going to be tinting our rear windows soon, gonna go quite light though, probably 75/50% as I want to keep some visibility at night!

6R is the VW Type code. The previous Polo (2005-2009) was the 9N3, before that (2002-2005) was 9N etc. The current shape Polo is actually the Mk.5, but is often known as a Mk.8 (or, in Roman numerals, Mk.VIII), as the Mk.2, Mk.3, and Mk.4 all had facelifts, which some people count as being a Mk. As different people call them by different Mk. numbers, the VW Type codes have been useful!

If yours is a 1.6 TDI, then it'll be a 6R, as the 1.6 TDI was never offered in the 9n3.

A question for you then..why does all my posts have to be checked before posting??
Never had that with any forum I've been on and it's really annoying when you want to make a quick reply.
As for pics...I will put some up soon I promise.
