Faye, I think for the relatively small cost, the Convenience pack (£130.00) would be worth adding, as that gives rain sensing wipers and auto dimming rear view mirror.

Depending on if you like a warm bum in the winter, then the Winter pack is a good choice (£355.00) and offers heated seats, low washer fluid reminder, headlight washers and heated washer jets.

I ticked a few boxes on mine

My essentials:

Rcd510 and multifunction wheel are great additions
Passenger airbag deactivation for when I take the cat to the vets
Parking senors as I have now become lazy
Auto climate
Anthracite wheels

My nice to haves:

Xenons given once you've had them you will tick the box
Rear privacy glass just as I like the look
Winter pack at the request of the wife and the cat

I didn't tick the convenience box as I never use it on my other cars

Has to be said its a great car and im really pleased with it and my 35 is feeling a bit neglected

Personally I can't say I'm a fan of the RCD510 radio unit, with MDI being standard fit I wouldn't have a use for the 6 CD multichanger. The big screen does I suppose improve the aesthetic.

The other options I'd agree with. Airbag deactivation switch is very useful if you have children/pets or are thinking about acquiring such as its not a easy/cheap retrofit otherwise save the £45.

IMHO the most pointless option is the armrest, gets in way the of handbrake and makes shifting gears awkward avoid.

I hadn't thought of the convenience pack - that seems a good option.

Airbag deactivation - I got that included in my Aygo for nothing! I'm getting a five door so won't be putting children or pets in the front, but I agree it's a good choice if I got a 3 door model, as my current car is 3 door and to save faff I occasionally stick a cat / small child in the front and having the deactivation is so handy!

I've reviewed the RCD510 and I don't think I'll bother. It's just an updated touchscreen with a 6 CD changer right? Well tbh I don't really listen to CDs in the car any more, it's mainly radio or iPod and it already has DAB and iPod connectivity as standard and with the multifunction steering wheel I won't need to touch the stereo anyway.

So I think the current list is:

Multifunction steering wheel
Convenience pack
Anthracite wheels
Servicing pack

I'm confused - I thought the car came with rear parking sensors already? Or can you add front at extra cost?

It's part of the MY14 (i.e. now) update, that the Sensor pack (reversing sensors and cruise control) is now standard on the Blue GT, so your good there unless you buy a second hand version that's pre 2014 MY

Re the fitting of the Bluetooth system- if I were going anywhere near an airbag system I'd disconnect the battery. Not worth running the risk IMO.

Did they give you an estimated delivery date when you ordered and then just kept you updated with each milestone?

Depends on how customer service orientated your dealer is, my salesman who sold me the last 4 cars lays updates me every two weeks on a Friday

Will pass the 1,000 barrier in mine tomorrow and loving it, just such fun to drive and great mpg so much better than my 500 and hardly driven my golf

Yes, pretty much :)

There's also a website where you can track your order if you have your order number: http://www.volkswagen.co.uk/owners/track-my-order

Ordered my new Blue GT last week here in Denmark. It's a deep pearl metallic black van which will arrive in July. I took it with the bi-xenon-lights and all-black titan interior. The seller told me it'll probably be a 2014 model.

Can't wait..... :D

Congrats on your BlueGT order. :) And great to see another dane in here. :D

But I'm afraid I'm gonna have to give you some bad news... You can't have both bi-xenon and the black titan interior. I ordered mine that way and was called back to the dealer a few weeks later when they got word back from the factory that it wasn't possible to get that combination.
(It is also writen in the fine print in the brochure that it's not possible to order it that way if you read the options list.)

So I unselected the black titan interior and kept the bi-xenon headlights. And will then put a leather interior in myself at a later time.

(Du er velkomme til at smide mig en privatbesked for mere info hvis det er. :) )

Yup... It's has to do with how they put the option packages together...
And when we don't get what we want it's a clear indicator of who founded the company in the first place...

It's not the leather-interior I ordered. It's just plain titan-black cloth. And THAT can be done with the xenonlights :)
